Wedding Day

Thatcher and Tashley's Wedding
December 15, 2012

Finally getting around to sorting pictures and putting them up! Yay!

Here is the groom!
THATCHER GLEN JOHNSON
Thatcher was so excited to get married. It is wonderful to see what a wonderful man he has become.  There was a lot of drama involved in this wedding but Thatcher rose to the occasion and took care of everything.  He adores his new bride.

Now let's introduce the bride:
TASHLEY DANIELLE TUCKER
Thatcher and Tashley met at a single adult activity.  She lives here in Colorado with her mom, sister and nephews.  Tashley joined the Church one year ago.  She is an artist.  She is spunky, funny, sweet, feisty and gives Thatcher a run for his money.  We all adore her.  It is wonderful to finally have a daughter in the family. She fits in just great, just a touch wonky like the rest of us. You will see what I mean in some of the photos.

Many of us lovingly refer to them as
THATCHLEY

Ok here we go with all the pictures!
Ceremony performed by Bishop Christopherson

Ceremony: (l to r) Kellie Thacker, ?,?,?, Trishara (Tashley's Sister), Tashley, Bishop Christopherson, Thatcher, Eli, Tanner, Nic Suder (best friend), Matt Covington and Brian

We agreed ahead of time NOT to do the mother daughter dance.  He cheated.  I cried.

Tashley's Father was not there so Eli danced with his new sister-in-law.

Then Grandpa Glen took his turn dancing with the bride.

The Reception

Anita, Dad and Me.  Anita baked about a million cookies and was such a big help!!

Dad with Tashley.  They are so cute together.  I love how much dad loves Tashley.  He has been so good to her.  Our whole family has.  They just took her in and made her comfortable.. Thatcher and Tashley are living in Grandpas basement with their 2 chihuahuas.
FOOD!!
Lots and Lots of Cookies!! And Cinnamon Rolls!!  And Chicken Noodle Soup!!

The hot cocoa bar was a hit!  Yummy!

Tashley didn't want a traditional wedding cake.  She wanted cheesecake.  So Kellie and Shannon made one!

Backdrop with pictures of the happy couple.

CUTTING THE CAKE

The shoe game.  This was hysterical!

Kendal, Marshall, James and Shannon!

Thatcher's Best Friend: Nicolas Suder.  Nic drove thru a snowstorm to get to the reception.  These two have been the best of friends since they were 8 years old.

BROTHERS:  Tanner, Thatcher and Eli.

Told you we were a little wonky.

A little dancing!

flowers

I love flowers! I am ready for spring. But it keeps snowing. So I brought more flowers into my house. This is the chair at my desk in the den. I saw this idea when I was out with Stacy. Anyway, This boring gray chair needed a little excitement. So lots of felted flowers! Yeah! Makes me happy to look at it. Only problem is it is on the back of the chair and I am usually sitting in it! Oh well.

My new bedroom

My bedroom....I love this room. It is my place to get away from it all. I love to curl up with a book on my bed and read! I have been wanting to redo the colors and stuff for a few years now. So slowly I have been finding deals on what I want.

I found the bedspread on sale at Target. I searched and searched for a fabric that I liked. Stacy and I found a funny little fabric store in Denver and there was the fabric! I love the jewel tones.

So I made a bunch of pillows for the bed! The orange pillow has a pin on it. It is a pin that Thatcher gave me for Christmas a few years ago that I love but don't get to wear very often. Now I see it every day!!

On my dresser: I found this little mirrored tray at Goodwill and just loved it!! The colored dessert dishes were from Goodwill as well. I just love them holding my jewelry. The dress form Stacy found at ARC. She has one also. I still have to refinish that. It will be so cool when it is done.

The corner: I have a lot of fun jewelry and I like to be able to see it. So I came up with this clever display. The Shuttered doors were from Thatcher's closet (He took them off a long time ago). I love being able to see all my jewelry and it decorates a rather nonfunctional corner of the room.

Because I am going back to school, I decided I needed an area just for my school stuff. So I organized the bookshelf and hung a bulletin board with a weekly schedule (I can just see me going to the wrong class one day). Don't you just love that tiny little blue phone!!! It really works!

I used my grandma Odd's old costmetic case as a file box and the stool holds my school books. I have wanted to use grandmas case for a long time and this is the perfect spot for it!!! I love it!

Changing this room up took a lot of time, but it was so worth it! I love the colors, they make me smile. It is now MY room. Very girlie and all mine!!!

Back To School

Back to School! It is just my personality that I have to have everything super organized and super cute. I can't help it. So when it came time to get ready to go back to college, I had to have a few new things.

I started with a new backpack. Well, all the backpacks I saw looked like they belonged on a 12 year old. And the ones for adults were so very BORING! So one day I drove by a garage sale and decided to run in. JACKPOT! There was the bag. It reminds me of Hawaii. It has lots of pockets (organization!) and I only paid $2 for it! I just hope it will hold everything.

Next I needed spiral notebooks and "pee-chees". Walmart helped me out there! My boys say I am a nerd cuz everything matches. But these were just calling out to me! I love them!!

Last but not least, I needed a new coat. I wanted something warm, comfortable and really fun. The college itself can be kinda cold inside, not to mention the dash from my car to the school. So, I was at Old Navy and noticed some cute coats. BINGO! Love this purple coat. It has an empire waist (So I look sorta skinny) and bell sleeves. It is long so my legs and bum will stay warm. I love the color! The original price was $100 but I got it for $31. Oh I love a bargain!!!

School starts next week. I am so excited for this new adventure in my life. My classes look interesting. I am taking a Literature class, a Business class, a History class and a jewelry making class. The textbooks are a little intimidating, but I think I can do this. I hope to meet some wonderful people and learn some new things. Wish me luck!!

Autumn in the entry

I love to change the decorations in the entry to fit the seasons. This is the one I just did for fall. I love the colors. Just realized that I forgot a wreath that I need to put in there. Oh well.

Fall is not long enough. I love when the leaves on the trees change colors. Especially those trees that turn bright red, so bright it looks like it hurts! I enjoy the cooler weather and wearing a sweater.
Sweater: garment worn by a child when its mother is feeling chilly
But it seems like any more it just goes to winter too fast. Too quickly I am looking for gloves and boots for the boys. Before I know it, Halloween will be here and then Thanksgiving will be over and it will be Christmas! ACK!

Sneakers

This is what happens to my shoes when I am bored!!

This week, while skydiving, I hurt my shoulder! Okay, so I actually hurt it while walking up the stairs carrying a load of laundry. And then again later the same day when I tripped going up the stairs with a paint brush in my hand. I think I separated my shoulder. Oh brother what a clutz.

Anyway, one night I couldn't sleep cuz my shoulder was hurting and I was being grumpy. I was looking at the shoes on the floor and thinking how they were comfy but ugly. So I got out my trusty pens and started doodling on them. The bottom shoe is the before picture and the top shoe is the after. I actually like these shoes now!

Halloween Porch

One of my latest projects!! I recently bought this headboard at goodwill for $3. It had a bunch of gold on it too. It was ugly. I painted it all black and decorated it up for halloween. I found the spiders at Michaels and painted them. The witches hat, shoes and stockings are an idea I borrowed from a friend. I love it.
The Chandelier I bought at Goodwill for $2 and painted it black. Then painted mardi gras beads from the dollar store and draped them. The bat was an old decoration I had sitting around. It turned out great! It makes me smile when I see it. Let's see, so the total I spent was $7. Not bad!
I am looking for another fun idea for the headboard when halloween is over. Would love to paint it silver and put it in the backyard with climatis flowers growing all over it. Hmmm. Wonder what I could do with it for Christmas.
By the way, did I say how much I LOVE spraypaint? You can change the look of anything with just a little paint! I want every color there is! Better be careful or I will end up running around the neighborhood tagging stuff with flowers! Ha!! Happy Halloween everyone!
